Powerchi YOGA® translates to Power (which means power of the mind) Chi (the vital energy force that runs through your body, this includes the Tai Chi element in Powerchi Yoga) and Yoga (the ancient art of mind and body union).

Powerchi YOGA® is a powerful fusion of two incredible ancient arts, Yoga and Tai Chi which have been beautiful synthesised into one amazing workout that stimulates mind, body and spirit.

Powerchi YOGA® was created in 1999 by Ian Fox (author of Yoga Made Easy) after he spent years searching for the ultimate way to shape, tone and stretch the body, as well as create a deep sense of inner peace and harmony whilst giving a fantastic all over workout.

Powerchi YOGA® is a workout for body and mind. It is a mild exercise programme designed to raise energy levels while reducing stress and tension. It is fun, flowing and highly effective for all over tone, shape and conditioning and is great for stretching away stress and soothing the soul.

Powerchi YOGA® is a dynamic yet mild exercise routine based on the ancient art of Tai Chi and the use of Yoga postures and breathing.

Powerchi YOGA® is ideal for enhancing your health and longevity, as well as toning up the muscular skeletal system of your body, developing balance and limb co-ordination as well as improving your lung capacity and your cardiovascular system.

This is achieved through a sequence of choreographed rhythmic and synchronised movements taken from many styles of T’ai Chi and postures from Yoga, which are then performed in a flowing motion to powerful music.

You will learn the Powerchi YOGA® routine over the course of six weeks; this ensures that your learning is progressive, structured and enjoyable.

After completing the six week course you may practice Powerchi YOGA® in the comfort of your own home or attend ‘pay & practice’ session with others. You even have the option of practicing in a 121 setting.
