What happens during counselling?
You will be listened to attentively and patiently thus enabling you to explore issues that are affecting your life and achieve the outcomes you are looking for. What takes place in the sessions is controlled by what you choose to discuss and explore. You will not be told what to do and decisions will not be made for you.
Each individual session is usually one hour in duration.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions will vary from person to person as each persons needs are different. This number will vary according to the nature of your present issues and the depth to which you would like to explore these issues.
How much does counselling cost?
My fees are charged on a ‘sliding scale’ – to allow access for all.
The fee generally ranges from £10.00 to £60.00 per one hour session.
How confidential is counselling?
I aim to provide a safe, comfortable and confidential counselling and therapy service for clients.
All sessions will be private and confidential. Confidentiality is maintained within the ethical and practice guidelines of the Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
I am sorry but I am unable to offer counselling to families and children.
I do not see those who are addicted to substances as this is a specialised area.
What is the difference between counselling and coaching?
Counselling and coaching share some similarities but in important ways are also quite different. Coaching is strongly grounded in work effectiveness and performance rather than wider life issues. Whilst certain skill-sets are similar, a counsellor or psychotherapist is typically trained to work at a far deeper level than a coach, particularly where psychological and emotional issues exist.
